It’s the day before another one of life’s opportunities and the butterflies are starting to form. To keep them at bay, I’ve been reviewing the March of Dimes website, so much so I’m sure the internet history is a combination of purple icons and inspiring stories. I know that I’ve always been more relaxed during an interview, when I feel as though I know the environment I’ll be working in. Thinking about it just makes me excited to be able to work with a non-profit organization with such a rich history.
I think it is important to research the job description and company thoroughly to ensure my experience level can handle the tasks assigned. Not to mention checking to see the work environment is one in which I can see myself learning a considerable amount and therefore improving my overall performance. If for whatever reason I end up applying for something that is not such a perfect match to the skills I already have, it is because I honestly think I can do it. It will just provide a challenge I haven’t risen to yet. One of my grandest fears is settling for a position that doesn’t test me, when I know I could accomplish so much more if I make the effort to push myself.
