The Beginning

I recently graduated college, literally about two weeks ago and similar to most others I know I’m embarking on the timeless rite of passage when a student becomes a career person. The environment we Job Hunters have to traverse has become fiercer, between the increased number of rivals and higher expectations of potential employers. This is an immediate challenge to new entries of the Hunt, each one has to be more clever, polished and knowledgeable than the rest. How do I react to such an environment? To borrow from one of my favorite TV shows, How I Met Your Mother, “Challenge accepted!”

Why am I writing?
I’m one of those souls that has moved back home with my parents, while continuing an ongoing job hunt. And this morning, I’ve just issued myself an additional constraint to the original challenge: To have a job by the time the toothpaste I opened yesterday is gone.

I realize there is no guarantee I’ll succeed within the new time limit and truthfully it's unorthodox. Though I’m hoping this will do more than give me a twice daily reminder. I want this to encourage me to push myself into trying new things, as I endeavor to trump the competition.

The Job I’m Hunting
I now have a Bachelor of Administration in Advertising and Promotion, ideally I’d love to work on the account side of an advertising agency, beginning as an Account Coordinator and working my way up. I also have a passion for experiential marketing, and wouldn’t mind tackling that challenge for a few years. I love taking an idea laid out by a client breathing life into it so that others can interact, get to know, and learn from others inspiration.Where some people see nothing, I see opportunity. Thus, the hunt is on.
